Finance roles are in steady demand
Banking, audit and corporate finance functions across the GCC continue to recruit, and an entry-level qualification helps candidates without a degree get seen.
The tightest qualification in Qualifi's Level 3 range: three subjects covering transaction records, cost and management information, and the maintenance of financial records. Sixty credits, aimed at building the foundation for accountancy work or for further study.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
This is a deliberately narrow award and better for it. Where Qualifi's other Level 3 business qualifications survey marketing, people, operations and culture, this one stays on the books. Its stated aim is to give learners the foundation required for a career in financial management and accountancy across a range of organisations, or to move on to further study in the subject.
Three subjects do the work. Financial Transactions Record-keeping establishes why entries have to be accurate and what happens when they are not. Cost and Management Information introduces the internal numbers a business uses to make decisions, which is a different discipline from reporting to the outside world. Financial Records Maintenance covers keeping the records in order once they exist.
The learning outcomes are correspondingly short and concrete: understand the need for accuracy, understand what cost and management accounting is for, understand the role of technology in recording management information, and understand accounting concepts and the role of financial records. Entry is open from age 16 with IELTS 6 for non-native English speakers, and the qualification number is 610/0795/X.
Three subjects, all on the books. Nothing here is spent on marketing or culture, which suits someone who wants the accounting itself.
Transaction record-keeping is the first subject, which is also the first thing anyone entering an accounts function is asked to do.
Cost and management information is taught distinctly from financial record maintenance, reflecting a real divide in the profession.
One of the four published outcomes concerns the use of ICT in recording management information, rather than treating software as incidental.
Qualifi publishes a minimum age of 16, making this reachable straight after school.
Qualifi names its own Level 4 accounting diploma, a Level 4 in a related area, or going straight into work.

Q
Banking, audit and corporate finance functions across the GCC continue to recruit, and an entry-level qualification helps candidates without a degree get seen.
Record-keeping and record maintenance are the daily tasks of a junior accounts role, taught directly rather than theorised.
A published minimum age of 16 makes this a realistic option for school leavers across the region.
With regional businesses moving onto digital accounting systems, the ICT outcome is directly relevant.
Qualifi runs its own Level 4 and Level 5 accounting diplomas, so the progression route stays with the same awarding body.
Two supporting references are normally expected. Sort out who will provide them before you apply.

No. It is a foundation qualification whose stated purpose is to provide the grounding for a career in financial management and accountancy, or to support further study. Professional status in accountancy comes from chartered and certified bodies with their own examinations and experience requirements. This sits well before that point. It is the sort of qualification that helps you get into an accounts function, where the professional route can then begin.
It is the smallest award in Qualifi's Level 3 range, and the four published learning outcomes are the shortest list too. That reflects a narrow scope rather than a thin one. If you want breadth across business, the Level 3 business management or integrated diplomas cover far more ground. If you specifically want the accounting foundation without paying for subjects you will not use, the narrowness is the point.
Qualifi states that applicants are normally required to produce two supporting references, with at least one preferably academic. This is more than its other Level 3 awards ask for and worth preparing early, particularly if you left education some time ago and need to think about who can speak for you academically. Your centre will tell you what form they should take.
Yes. Sixteen is the published minimum age and no prior qualification is listed as mandatory. What Qualifi does require is that the approved centre reviews whether you can complete the programme successfully and meet its demands, and that it considers what support you might need. So the centre will assess your readiness rather than simply checking a certificate.
Yes, if English is not your first language: IELTS 6 or equivalent. That is a notch above the IELTS 5.5 guidance Qualifi gives for its Level 3 hospitality award, so do not assume the requirement is the same across its range. Qualifi also notes that international qualifications are checked for appropriate enrolment, which your centre will handle as part of admission.
Qualifi publishes three onward options: its own Level 4 Diploma in Accounting and Finance, a Level 4 diploma in a related area, or employment in an associated profession. Staying within Qualifi's own ladder means the progression is well defined, since it runs accounting diplomas at Levels 3, 4, 5 and 7. Where you go beyond that depends on which professional body or university you approach, and on their rules rather than Qualifi's.
