Online retail has grown sharply
Consumer e-commerce across the GCC expanded rapidly and continues to draw investment and staff.
Selling to businesses and selling to consumers are treated as two separate subjects here, which is right, because they work nothing alike. Mobile and interface programming sit alongside them, on Qualifi's shared IT foundation.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Anyone who has worked on both will tell you that a business buying from a business and a person buying a jacket are not the same transaction. One involves approval chains, negotiated terms and relationships measured in years. The other is decided in forty seconds on a phone. This programme splits them into separate subjects instead of pretending they are one topic called online selling.
Business to business e-commerce and business to consumer e-commerce are the two subjects that give the award its name. Two more are drawn from the lower stage of Qualifi's IT range and sit well beside them: graphical user interface, which is where the buying experience is actually built, and programming concepts with Java for Android programming, which matters because so much of this now happens on a handset.
Eight more complete the programme, and anyone comparing Qualifi's IT awards will meet them repeatedly: ethics and principles, numeracy for the field, hardware with operating systems, imagery and data structures, server administration, keeping systems secure, development in C#.NET, plus one on getting a technology venture off the ground. Twelve in total, all compulsory, 240 credits, number 610/3477/0.
B2B and B2C are studied separately, reflecting how differently the two actually operate.
Java for Android programming is in the compulsory set, which matches where most consumer buying now happens.
Graphical user interface is a subject in its own right, and the interface is where a sale is won or lost.
Computer graphics editing with database concepts covers what sits underneath a catalogue.
Network security is required, which is non-negotiable for anything handling payments.
Twelve distinct subjects with no errors in the official list, unlike others in the same family.

Consumer e-commerce across the GCC expanded rapidly and continues to draw investment and staff.
The region's wholesale, construction and energy supply chains are moving procurement online.
Mobile commerce dominates regional online spending, which makes the Android content directly relevant.
Network security being compulsory matters for anyone touching card data.
Technopreneurship alongside both trading models fits the region's growing base of online sellers.

Because they are genuinely different disciplines. Selling to a business involves procurement processes, negotiated pricing, credit terms, approval chains and relationships built over years. Selling to a consumer turns on a short decision made on a small screen, where trust and friction decide everything. Teaching them together produces generalities. Splitting them lets each be taken on its own terms, which is the more useful approach.
Not really, and it is worth knowing that before you enrol. The emphasis falls on the technology and the trading models rather than on advertising, search optimisation or social campaigns. You will study how online commerce works and how to build the systems that carry it. If what you want is marketing — audiences, channels, campaigns — look for a qualification built around that instead.
Qualifi offers no explanation on the page, so this is our reading rather than its reasoning: mobile is where a great deal of consumer buying now takes place, and understanding how an application is built makes you considerably more useful to anyone selling through one. The subject is drawn from the lower stage of Qualifi's wider IT range, so it also reflects the shared architecture of these awards.
Two subjects out of twelve carry the name directly, with interface design and Android programming supporting them closely. The other eight are the general IT foundation Qualifi uses throughout its range at this level. So you are getting a broad IT qualification with a commercial specialism attached, rather than an exclusively e-commerce programme. For most employers that breadth is an advantage.
None. Every subject is compulsory. The overview text on Qualifi's page talks about elective choices, but that paragraph is shared with its general information technology award, which is the one that actually offers them. Here the programme is fixed from start to finish, so there is nothing to decide beyond whether this is the right award for you.
Three published conditions apply: you are at least eighteen, your English meets IELTS 6 or something Qualifi accepts in its place where English came to you second, and two people will put their names to a reference, with an academic referee preferred among them. Qualifi publishes no prior qualification requirement. Your approved centre then forms its own view on whether the workload is realistic for you, and that conversation is where any gaps in your background get aired.
