Programme Overview

About this Programme

Plenty of project qualifications stop at method — schedules, critical path, a stage gate diagram. This one runs to twelve subjects and keeps going past the method into the parts that actually derail delivery. Procurement risk and contract management. Project and logistics management. Operations and global supply chain management. Finance for project managers. Four subjects about money moving and goods arriving.

Risk gets two separate treatments: once through procurement and contracts, once through a subject devoted to managing risk, uncertainty and complexity in projects. Alongside those sit planning, controlling and leading a project, operations and information management, leadership and professional development, innovation in project management, and research methods. Qualifi also lists two subjects called Principles of Project Management and Project Management, without explaining how they differ.

What Qualifi says it wants from a learner is ambitious: critical insight into leading-edge practice, autonomy enough to plan and run consultancy projects in a group, originality in approaching complex issues. Accreditation sits at Level 7, the credit value is 120, and the framework number is 610/1342/0. Its specification was reissued in April 2025, making it one of the freshest documents in the range.

Why Choose

Why Choose This Programme?

01

Contracts and procurement are taught

Procurement risk and contract management is a subject in its own right, not a footnote inside a planning module.

02

Logistics and supply chain included

Two subjects cover project logistics and global supply chain, which is where delivery dates are usually won or lost.

03

Money, handled by the project manager

Finance for project managers sits on the list, so budgets are treated as part of the role rather than someone else's job.

04

Risk gets two passes

Once through contracts and procurement, and again through managing risk, uncertainty and complexity in projects.

05

Consultancy work in a group

Qualifi states an aim of building the autonomy to plan and implement consultancy projects in a group context.

06

A recently refreshed specification

The centre specification was reissued in April 2025, among the most recent documents Qualifi publishes.

An internationally recognised pathway awarded by Qualifi.

Why Project Managers in the Gulf Consider This

01

Contract work defines the region

Procurement and contract management is daily reality on GCC infrastructure, energy and construction programmes.

02

Supply chains stretch a long way

Global supply chain content speaks directly to projects supplied from Asia, Europe and the Americas at once.

03

Budget accountability sits with you

In leaner regional teams the project manager often owns the numbers, and finance is on the syllabus here.

04

Complexity is the norm, not the exception

Multi-contractor, multi-nationality programmes are exactly what the risk and complexity subject addresses.

05

Offered internationally

Qualifi states the qualification is available in the UK and internationally through approved centres.

06

Price is a local matter

No fee is published by the awarding body. Ask approved centres in your country for an itemised written quotation.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this get me a PMP or PRINCE2?

No, and it is worth being blunt about it. Qualifi publishes no relationship whatsoever with the Project Management Institute, with PRINCE2, with the Association for Project Management or with any other professional body in the field. There is no exemption, no credit towards their exams and no recognised equivalence. This is an Ofqual-regulated academic qualification; those are industry certifications, and you earn them separately. If a job advert names a specific certification, take that certification.

Why are there two subjects that both sound like "project management"?

Because the published list genuinely contains Principles of Project Management and, separately, Project Management. Qualifi gives no explanation of how the two differ in content or depth, and we are not going to guess on its behalf. It may be an introductory subject followed by an advanced one, or it may be an artefact of how the list was compiled. The centre specification should set out the detail, so ask your centre to show you both subject descriptors before you enrol.

What do I need to be accepted?

More than on most Qualifi awards at this level. You must be at least nineteen. A Level 6 qualification or a first degree is expected. If English is not your first language, IELTS 6 or an accepted equivalent is required. Two references are normally asked for, with at least one preferably academic. Over and above all of that, the approved centre forms its own judgement about whether the programme is within your reach and what help it could offer you.

Twelve subjects for 120 credits — is that a lot?

It is the largest subject count of any Qualifi diploma at Level 7, so yes, the ground covered is wide. What stays hidden is how the 120 credits divide between them: Qualifi prints no credit value against any subject, and marks none of them optional. Treat all twelve as part of the programme and ask your centre for the credit breakdown and the assessment load before you plan your year around it.

How does it compare with taking project management as a specialism inside the Business Strategy diploma?

Scale and focus. On the Business Strategy award, project management is one of five routes you can add to a shared strategy core, and it runs to three subjects. Here, project management is the whole qualification and runs to twelve. Choose the specialism route if you want broad strategy with a project flavour; choose this if the discipline itself is the point and you want contracts, logistics, supply chain, finance and risk alongside the method.

Nothing on price or length?

Correct, and not unusual for this awarding body. Qualifi accredits and certificates the qualification; it does not teach it, so the timetable and the fee belong to whichever approved centre you enrol with. No total qualification time is published for this award either, which means there is no official study-hours estimate to help you judge a proposed schedule. Ask for start dates, a realistic finish date and a full price list in writing.
